The Adams Center Free Library is proud to announce the reopening of the library.  The renovations are complete and we have moved all the boxes back into the library as of September 28th, 2011. We are open for business

On Thursday, November 3, 2011, the Adams Center Free Library welcomed the
community to celebrate the completion of the most substantial renovation to the
library in over 50 years.

Every challenge of this scope involves many hands and much cooperation, and the
Board of Trustees extends their sincerest appreciation to all who have been
involved in accomplishing this task.  Penny Sayers-McGrath authored the request
for a construction grant in 2010 to the New York State Department of Education
and without her efforts this project would not have happened.  We acknowledge
important support from the North Country Library System, the South Jefferson
Library Consortium, the Adams Town Board, and the South Jefferson Central
School District.  Credited for the quality construction are Graves Home
Improvements, Painful Acres Handcrafted Amish furniture, Ken Conway Heating and
Cooling, North Country Hearth and Home Electric Fireplaces and Jeff Lucas-
Budget Blinds.

Knapps Hardware provided book, furniture, and equipment storage at no cost
during construction.  The trustees also acknowledge support of Dry Hill
correctional facility for providing assistance in removing and replacing books
around the construction process.

Food for the Open House was provided by McDermott’s Deli, Great American
supermarket in Adams Center and the Maynard Wilson Elementary School PTO.

The Adams Center Board of Trustees sincerely appreciates others who provided
labor and support through this time of major transition.   The office of
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo acknowledged the Grand Reopening. A representative
from state senator Patty Ritchie’s office attended the open house and provided
the library with a certificate of recognition.
